George Michael will forever be part of fashion history. Look back at Freedom! ’90

From “Careless Whisper” to “Last Christmas,” George Michael was the voice behind a ton of hits, all of which filled our heads. But the tune that ended up solidifying his spot in fashion history? None other than “Freedom! ’90,” due to the supermodel-packed video released along with it.

Twenty-six years ago, George Michael’s “Freedom! ’90” made music-video history. And while we bet you can still sing all the words and instantly recognize the iconic faces of supermodels-Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, and Tatjana Patitz all made appearances for a full six and a half minutes. The casting decision of the models came  about after the singer saw Peter Lindbergh’s portrait of the five women for the January 1990 cover of British Vogue.

A famous fashion photographer also made an appearance in the video. That’s acclaimed fashion photographer Mario Sorrenti.

MF25 wishes his family peace at this difficult time.
